In reality, Travel Mama's daily life consists of a series of meticulous confirmations and a deep, attentive approach to our clients. Although we've transitioned to an OTA, losing the formality of opening the door to customers like we used to have a physical store, the workload has only increased. Every morning, what wakes us up isn't an alarm clock, but the WhatsApp notification on our phones. Because we handle many small private tours to Europe, due to the time difference, when our clients finish their day in Europe and are heading back to their hotels, it's morning in Hong Kong right there.<\/p>\n

Drawing back the curtains and sipping a cup of hot tea, our "office" unfolds before the screen. The first thing we do isn't to process documents, but to check on the guests who departed for London or Paris last night: Did the airport pickup go smoothly? Were there any problems with their hotel check-in? Only when a guest sends us a family photo taken in front of Big Ben can we finally relax, eat a piece of bread, and officially begin our day.<\/p>\n

In the late afternoon, I went downstairs to a tea restaurant for a cup of iced lemon tea, which was the most relaxing time of the day. But what I was still thinking about was: Had I made a reservation at the winery for my group trip to the South of France next week?<\/p>\n

Back at the office, the afternoons are usually "firefighting" time. Flight delays and unexpected hotel situations are commonplace for us. I remember last week a client encountered a transportation strike in Europe, and we immediately contacted local drivers and guides to reschedule all the transportation.
