Day 1
Upon arriving at Melbourne Airport, a designated representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Today, you can explore and discover this city, renowned as the most livable in the world, and enjoy your free time.
Day 2
We will depart from downtown Melbourne, with our first stop at the Rainbow Boxes in Brighton. This vibrant little paradise will surely bring you endless joy and happiness, making it a perfect spot for photos. Next, we will head to Maru Zoo at 3:30 PM, an incredible animal haven. This portion is at your own expense, but it will be an unforgettable journey allowing you to get up close with various adorable animals. At 6 PM, we will go to Cowes, and at 7:30 PM, we will visit The Nobbies. At 9 PM, you will have the opportunity to witness the spectacular sight of the penguins returning to their nests.
The Penguin Island Nature Reserve (Penguin Parade) is currently the largest wild penguin sanctuary in the world, with over 30,000 penguins residing on Phillip Island. At dusk, you can watch the adorable little penguins struggle through the waves, their beaks full of food to take back to their nests, waddling cutely along the shore! You will be seated on an open-air viewing platform along the coastline, guided by staff, as you wait for the penguins to return home.
Important Information:
– Photography and videography are not allowed during the penguin return to prevent artificial light from disturbing the penguins' eyes. The island implements light restrictions, with only a few low-wattage incandescent lights along the coastline.
– The number of penguins can vary each year due to environmental factors, with spring and summer populations differing from those in autumn and winter.
– This tour includes the penguin parade viewing from the General Viewing Platform.
– The above attractions may be adjusted slightly based on the actual conditions of the day.
Day 3
Located 113 kilometers from Melbourne, Ballarat was once home to rich gold deposits that sparked a global frenzy, earning it the nickname "New Gold Mountain." Among the gold seekers were Chinese miners who traveled from afar, leaving their mark on the town's history. Here, you'll experience the excitement of the gold rush era and explore well-preserved historical buildings and relics. At Sovereign Hill, you can step back in time to the bustling 1850s and experience life in a gold rush town. Try your hand at traditional gold panning, reliving the dream of striking it rich. Around every corner of this fascinating town, surprises await: pan for gold, explore underground mines, and watch how crushed ore is turned into gleaming gold bars. Every building along the streets is open for exploration—some house grandmothers teaching embroidery to young girls, while others have children attentively listening to their teacher. You might even witness a lively police chase through the streets, recreating scenes from this captivating chapter of history.
