Pay attention to your passport type! Holders of HKSAR, BNO, or Macao SAR passports must schedule a US tourist visa (B1/B2 Visa) appointment at the consulate well in advance. If you hold a passport under the Visa Waiver Program (like a Portuguese passport for Macau) , you can apply for an ESTA 72 hours prior to departure. A friendly reminder: always use the official US government .gov website for ESTA to avoid overpriced agency sites!
The US is truly a "tipping nation." A 15% - 20% tip is generally expected when dining at restaurants. There is also corresponding tipping etiquette for private drivers and hotel housekeeping, which serves as a basic respect for their services.
Temperatures in the Grand Canyon or desert areas of the West Coast fluctuate wildly between day and night. It can be hot enough for short sleeves during the day, but drop to around 10 degrees at night. Bring a windbreaker for "onion-style" layering, and you'll be perfectly fine.
American food is more than just fast-food chains! We highly recommend trying an authentic Roadhouse steak, the famous In-N-Out Burger in California, or even some hidden clam chowder spots.
The US is vast, so travel times can be relatively long. Although our private charters are extremely comfortable, preparing your favorite Spotify playlist to listen to while enjoying the scenery is the ultimate Road Trip experience!
The climate on the US West Coast is extremely dry and can easily cause chapped skin. Remember to pack heavy-duty moisturizers, lip balm, and your own insulated water bottle to stay hydrated at all times!
