How to choose a Central Asia tour

For Silk Road cities, start with the existing 8 to 9-day Uzbekistan tours. For mountains and steppe, see the 9-day Kyrgyzstan tour. With less time, choose the 6-day Kazakhstan tour or 4 to 6 days in Azerbaijan. Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are not currently offered as separate tours; ask us if you want to add a country.

Late spring to early autumn is the busiest time for road trips and mountain areas. In winter some mountain roads or camps change. Visa, passport type and transit rules differ by country; confirm with official sources and our consultants before departure.

It depends on the country. Current tours: Azerbaijan 4 or 6 days, Kazakhstan 6 days, Uzbekistan 8 or 9 days, Kyrgyzstan 9 days. Combining two countries needs extra days. Actual nights are as stated on the product page.

What is the best season to travel?

Around May to September is the busiest time for road trips and mountain areas. In winter some mountain areas or camps change. Choose your month based on your confirmed itinerary and official weather information.

How do visas and entry work?

Rules differ for Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and change by passport type. Before departure, confirm with each country's official entry website and our consultants. Visa fees are usually not included in the tour price.

Does the tour guide speak Mandarin?

Language, driver/guide, and vehicle type are as stated on that tour page and in your confirmed quote. If you require Mandarin, please speak with the consultant first.

How many people are needed to form a group?

Is the Kyrgyzstan mountain trip very tiring?
