Sigiriya Castle requires traversing steep inclines and declines, and is characterized by intense heat and sunshine. It can be combined with Dambulla Cave Temple and Polonnaruwa on a shorter cultural itinerary. Actual duration of stay will depend on physical condition and opening hours.
The Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Botanic Gardens are commonly found on 6-8 day itineraries, similar to those in the city. Appropriate attire is required for entry, and photography rules are subject to change. Tickets for most Perahera festivals in August are charged separately.
The Nuwara Eliya area is cooler and suitable for visiting tea plantations. The mountain roads are winding, so avoid driving too much in one day. Please confirm the itinerary for details.
Jeeps are the most common mode of transport to the park. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, as park opening hours and road conditions are subject to change. The 11-day wildlife exploration route will include more time for natural exploration.
Dutch-era castles and southern coastlines are commonly found on itineraries of 7 days or more. During the southwest monsoon season, coastal itineraries may need to be adjusted flexibly; please confirm the itinerary before proceeding.
Most flights depart from and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). A day trip to Colombo city can be arranged for both the first and last nights, making airport pickup convenient and avoiding the hassle of rushing around with large tour groups.

From December to April, the southwest coast and the Cultural Triangle are relatively dry, making them a popular choice. From May to September, the southwest experiences its monsoon season, so prices on the southern coast may be more flexible. At the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the grottoes, you must cover your shoulders and knees. Shoes must be removed; follow the photography rules and on-site instructions.
You'll need to climb stone steps, where the heat is intense and the sun is strong. Bring a hat and water, and adjust your pace according to your physical condition that day.
