Arrive at Manas International Airport. After immigration and baggage collection, a Travel MaMa private-vehicle representative meets you and transfers you into Bishkek for a city orientation, then hotel check-in and rest.

Day 2

Ala-Archa Gorge — Burana Tower — Chon Kemin

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, travel by private vehicle to Ala-Archa National Park at the foot of the Tian Shan; in the Soviet era entry was by special permit only. Enjoy the alpine gorge, then visit the 11th-century Silk Road landmark Burana Tower and the open-air balbal stone-warrior museum. Continue to Chon Kemin Gorge for a boutique guesthouse stay.

Day 3

Issyk-Kul — Semenovskoye — Karakol

Travel to Issyk-Kul Lake, the jewel of the Tian Shan at 1,608 m and the world's second-largest alpine lake, which does not freeze. Drive the scenic Semenovskoye and Grigorievskoye gorges through primary forest. In the evening arrive in Karakol to visit the Chinese-style Dungan Mosque, built without metal nails, and the century-old wooden Orthodox church.

Day 4

Jeti-Oguz Gorge — traditional eagle hunting — Kochkor

Visit Jeti-Oguz Gorge and the weathered red rocks known across Central Asia as Seven Bulls and Broken Heart. In the afternoon meet a local nomadic eagle hunter in Bokonbayevo and watch the traditional hunt. In the evening drive the south shore of Issyk-Kul to Kochkor.

Day 5

Kichi Naryn Gorge · Naryn

After hotel breakfast, take the high mountain 4x4 road to Naryn. The route passes the dramatic Kichi Naryn Gorge and crosses Jalpak Bel Pass above 3,000 m, showing the varied and rugged Tian Shan landscape of Kyrgyzstan.

Day 6

Tash Rabat stone caravanserai

Travel deeper into the Tian Shan to Tash Rabat, the 14th-century stone caravanserai on the Silk Road at 3,200 m, still remarkably intact. Overnight in a nearby nomadic yurt camp under a remote night sky.

Day 7

Son Kul alpine lake

Continue to Son Kul Lake (3,013 m), Kyrgyzstan's second-largest lake and its highest alpine lake, ringed by mountains. Wildflowers and horses surround the shore. Overnight in a traditional wooden-framed, thick-felt yurt.

Day 8

33 Parrots Pass — felt-carpet workshop — return to Bishkek

Descend via the steep 33 Parrots Pass. In Kochkor, spend time with a local nomadic family to see and try traditional felt-carpet making, a national intangible cultural heritage, and visit a small craft museum. In the afternoon return by private vehicle to Bishkek.

Bishkek · Hometown

What are the yurt facilities like at Lake Song-Kul? Will it be uncomfortable?

The yurt is central to experiencing Central Asian nomadic culture. We use a locally selected yurt camp (4 people sharing one yurt) lined with warm felt. Facilities at this high-altitude site are simple, which is part of the remote, star-filled stay.

Are lunches and dinners included in the tour price?

This private independent series does not include lunch or dinner by default. The accompanying guide recommends local restaurants along the way so you can order freely.
