PARIS - BLOIS - TOURS - VILLANDRY - AMBOISE We begin the day’s journey towards charming central France, heading for the picturesque Loire Valley. Our first stop is Blois, a charming city famous for its magnificent château. Next we head to Tours, the regional capital on the banks of the Loire River, where you can stroll at leisure and enjoy a pleasant lunch. In the afternoon we explore the magnificent Château de Villandry, renowned for its gardens and flowers. Our journey then takes us to Amboise, a charming city with an enchanting medieval quarter along the Loire River. Dinner is included. Overnight at a selected hotel in AMBOISE

AMBOISE - CHENONCEAUX - CHAMBORD - LIMOGES Embark on a journey of discovery in the Loire Valley. Our day begins in the morning at the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his final three years. Further into the Loire region, we'll explore the iconic Château de Chenonceau (entrance fee included), a castle that spans the Cher River like a bridge. Next, we'll visit the largest castle in the Loire Valley, Chambord (park visit included). Continuing into central France, our next stop is Limoges, renowned for its porcelain. We recommend visiting its historic center, with a highlight being the Saint Etienne Cathedral. Overnight at a selected hotel in Limoges.

LIMOGES - SARLAT - BEYNAC ET CAZENAC - ROCAMADOUR We leave Limoges for the Dordogne, one of the historic rivers of central France. Few regions have so many charming villages and enchanting landscapes. We arrive at Lascaux to visit the museum and the replica of the cave (admission included) and learn about the region’s prehistory and its magnificent cave paintings. Afterwards we visit Sarlat, a UNESCO World Heritage town with a well-preserved Renaissance historic centre, where you can stroll and have lunch. In Beynac we explore the medieval castle overlooking the river (admission included). We end the day in Rocamadour, a beautiful medieval village with an important sanctuary built “on the cliff”; we suggest walking down the Via Crucis and returning by lift. Dinner is included. ROCAMADOUR - PADIRAC CAVE - COLLONGES LA ROUGE - SAINT EMILION - BORDEAUX We will visit the spectacular Padirac Chasm and enjoy a boat trip on the river 75 meters underground. Afterwards, we will travel to the picturesque village of Collonges-la-Rouge, built of red stone, part of the Route of Saint James. After lunch, we will head to Saint-Emilion, located in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, with time for a leisurely stroll. We will arrive in Bordeaux in the evening. Note: The Padirac Chasm may be closed from November to the end of March due to weather conditions. Overnight at a selected hotel in Bordeaux.

BORDEAUX - LOURDES The whole of Bordeaux city centre is listed as a World Heritage Site. You will be amazed by the “Water Mirror” and stroll through the old town with its pedestrian streets and 11th-century cathedral. Admission to the CITE DU VIN is included: an impressive interactive museum telling the story of wine and its production, with a wine tasting on the observation deck in Bordeaux. Afterwards you will have free time to stroll along the Garonne River, lined with small restaurants, and have lunch. After lunch we drive to LOURDES. Overnight at a selected hotel in LOURDES

LOURDES - CARCASSONNE - NARBONNE - MARSEILLE We cross the south of France, stopping at CARCASSONNE, a city encircled by the most beautiful walls in Europe. Time for a stroll. After lunch we continue to NARBONNE, with free time to get to know this historic Occitan city and its picturesque historic centre. Arrive in the late afternoon in MARSEILLE, France’s second-largest city. We suggest a stroll around its lively “Vieux Port”, full of life and small restaurants. MARSEILLE - ARLES - AVIGNON - LYON Villages, landscapes and history: today we see some of the most beautiful places in Provence. ARLES, a World Heritage city, shows us its Roman and medieval heritage and reminds us of Van Gogh. In LES BAUX we have the chance to visit this small medieval village, and admission to the CARRIERES DE LUMIERE is included: an impressive show of art, images and sound inside former quarries. Time for lunch and a stroll in AVIGNON, home of the huge Palais des Papes. We continue to LYON, where we can stroll through the World Heritage old town, and a funicular ride up to Notre Dame de Fourviere is included, a huge basilica from which we can enjoy views of the city. Note: if tickets for the Carrieres de Lumiere exhibition cannot be obtained because of closure or excessive crowds, we will go instead to the Roman aqueduct of the Pont du Gard. LYON - TOURNUS - SAVIGNY CASTLE - BEAUNE - DIJON We leave Lyon for the Burgundy region. We stop in TOURNUS, a lovely little town with imposing stone gateways and a large abbey. Afterwards we head to BEAUNE, with time for lunch and a short exploration of Burgundy’s wine capital. We suggest visiting the wine museum or the historic hospital. Next we visit SAVIGNY Castle, in the heart of this wine-growing area. Built in the 15th century, the castle houses some remarkable museums (a motorcycle museum, racing cars, and an aircraft and helicopter museum!). We continue to DIJON, the capital of Burgundy, with its lively streets and many medieval and Renaissance buildings, most notably the Palace of the Dukes. Overnight at a selected hotel in DIJON

DIJON - ABBEY OF FONTENAY - SEMUR EN AUXOIS - VEZELAY - PARIS We leave DIJON for FONTENAY ABBEY, a World Heritage Site; admission to the abbey complex is included. Still in Burgundy, we will have time for lunch and a stroll in VEZELAY, one of the most beautiful villages in France, whose huge basilica is one of the starting points of the Way of St James.
