This 8-day Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong tour starts and ends in Chengdu, travelling via Dujiangyan, Mao County, Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou, Leshan and Mount Emei. Two days are set aside for Jiuzhaigou, and the longer stretch back to Chengdu is by high-speed train instead, cutting time on the road. The actual open areas of the scenic sites, the order of visits and transport arrangements are subject to confirmation at the time of departure.

DAY 3 · Huanglong
Head to the Huanglong Scenic Area, where the sample itinerary includes the uphill cable car and the scenic-area electric shuttle, to admire the terraced colourful pools and valley views. Huanglong is at high altitude, so the actual extent of your visit depends on the day's weather and which parts of the scenic area are open.
DAY 3–4 · Jiuzhaigou
Explore the Shuzheng, Rize and Zechawa valleys by the scenic area's eco-bus. The colours of the lakes and forests change with the season, weather and water conditions; two days give travellers more time to enjoy the different sections.
DAY 6 · Leshan
The sample itinerary includes a boat cruise to view the Leshan Giant Buddha from the river, followed by a visit to Baoguo Temple on Mount Emei. If the boat is suspended due to water levels or weather, the supplier's itinerary states that a visit on the hill will be arranged instead.
Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Dujiangyan and the Leshan Giant Buddha are linked in one route; the first half focuses on alpine lakes, while the second half turns to ancient towns, stone carvings and city life in Chengdu.
The reference plan is a second-class high-speed train from Huanglong Jiuzhai Station or Songpan Station to Chengdu East Station, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours; the actual train, station and times are subject to ticketing.
Visit the Chengdu giant panda base, plus the Yangtianwo Panda Photo Plaza, Kuanzhai Alley, Taikoo Li and the IFS area, experiencing both the natural and the urban pace of Sichuan.
Fly to Chengdu on the reference flight, Cathay Pacific CX986 (departs Hong Kong 10:00, arrives Chengdu 12:35). After airport pick-up, check in at the hotel; the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, with the scenic-area electric shuttle included in the sample itinerary; then stop at the Yangtianwo Panda Photo Plaza before continuing to Mao County.

Pass Diexi Lake on the way to the Huanglong Scenic Area, where the sample itinerary includes the uphill cable car and electric shuttle. Following the supplier's route, the same day also includes entry to Jiuzhaigou National Park, touring the open sections by the park's eco-bus.
