What's the weather like in Bhutan? Is altitude sickness common?
Bhutan has four distinct seasons, and there is a large temperature difference between day and night in the mountainous areas. It is recommended to wear "onion layering" clothing and bring a warm jacket.
Regarding altitude, Paro and Thimphu have an average elevation of approximately 2,200 to 2,400 meters, and severe altitude sickness is generally not expected during the trip. However, Tiger's Nest Monastery is located at an altitude of 3,120 meters, so it is recommended to slow down your pace and allow your body to acclimatize gradually.
Are there any special dress or etiquette requirements for traveling to Bhutan?
Bhutanese culture is conservative, and when entering religious sites (such as dzongs and temples),Long-sleeved tops and long pants/skirts must be worn.Shorts, sleeveless shirts, and slippers are strictly prohibited. Hats and shoes must be removed before visiting temples, and visitors should walk clockwise around pagodas as a sign of respect.
What is the local currency and internet communication situation?
The currency of Bhutan is the Nur Thür (BTN), which is universally accepted at a 1:1 exchange rate with the Indian Rupee. It is recommended to bring US dollars in cash to exchange locally (banks only accept US dollars issued after 2006).
In terms of network connectivity, the signal is stable in Thimphu and Paro city centers, and most hotels offer free Wi-Fi, but the speed may not be as fast as in Hong Kong, making it suitable for experiencing a "slow life" and putting down your phone.

Day 1: Hong Kong ✈ Paro ➝ Timbu
After arriving in Paro, drive to the capital Thimphu (approximately 1.5 hours by car).
• Ascend to Kuenselphodrang Nature Park to pay homage to the 169-foot-tall Vajrasana Buddha statue and overlook the magnificent valley.
• Visit the National Memorial Chorten, built to commemorate the third king.
• Stroll through the bustling Clock Tower Square in the heart of Thimphu and soak up the vibrant local shops and traditional architecture.
Day 2: Thimphu → Punaka → Thimphu

Day 4: Paro → Haa Valley → Paro

• Challenge yourself to Tiger's Nest, Bhutan's most iconic landmark. Built in 1692, this temple hangs atop a 900-meter-high cliff. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) once flew here on a tiger to practice asceticism. You can choose to hike or ride a horse (at your own expense) to the halfway point and then climb the steps to the top.
• After descending the mountain, you can enjoy a traditional hot stone bath at your own expense, washing away fatigue in the warm spring water released by the natural hot stones.
• Change into traditional Bhutanese clothing (Gho for men / Kira for women) for photos to create unforgettable travel memories.
Day 6: Paro ✈ Hong Kong
• Enjoy free time in the morning. You can purchase locally made souvenirs at Bhutanese specialty shops or stroll through the charming streets of Paro. Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese lunch at your own expense.
