Day 1
Hong Kong ✈ Paro ➝ Thimphu
Upon arrival, visit Rinpung Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang; then proceed to Thimphu via the Tachogang Lhakhang suspension bridge.
Day 2
Thimphu / Paro (attending the annual festival)
Thimphu Festival tour: attend the Thimphu Festival at Tashichho Dzong and enjoy the masked dances. Paro Festival tour: attend the Paro Festival at Rinpung Dzong in Paro and enjoy the masked dances. You will also visit the Kuenselphodrang Buddha statue; the Memorial Chorten; the Motithang Takin; the handmade paper mill; personalised stamps; and the Norzin Lam market.
Day 3
Thimphu → Gangti → Punakha
Gangtey Gonpa; Phobjikha Valley; Black-necked Crane Visitor Center.
Day 4
Punakha ➝ Paro
Chimi Lhakhang; Punakha Dzong; Suspension Bridge and Prayer Ceremony; Dochula Pass and Druk Wangyal Chorten.

Can I choose any departure date?
No. This tour departs only on set festival dates: March 19, 2027 (Paro Festival); October 10, 2027 (Thimphu Festival).
What are some special experiences you have when participating in Tshechu?
Tshechu ("tenth day" festival) is Bhutan's grandest religious and social celebration. You will enjoy watching monks and people dressed in silk robes and wearing sacred masks perform the Cham Dance, experiencing faith and joy.
Is it allowed to take photos during festivals?
Photography and videography are generally welcome during dance performances in outdoor plazas; however, photography is strictly prohibited inside the dzong (fortress) or temple halls. Please politely ask for permission before taking close-up photos of residents or monks in their traditional attire.
What is the difference between the Thimphu and Paro festivals?
The Thimphu Festival is held in the autumn at Tashichho Dzong in the capital, and is a large-scale, vibrant event. The Paro Festival is held in the spring at Rinpung Dzong, with its climax including the unveiling of a giant Thongdrel painting of Padmasambhava at dawn on the final day.
Is there a direct flight from Hong Kong to Bhutan? Do I need to disembark at IXB on the return flight?
The outbound flight is a direct flight to Paro. The return flight involves a 45-minute technical stop at IXB, during which passengers do not need to disembark.
