7Day Highlights of Italy Tour – Guaranteed Departure

Welcome to your tour with Travel Mama! We’ll transfer you to the hotel and you’ll have some free time. In the afternoon, you’ll find information about the start of your tour on the boards located at the hotel reception.

Today we will visit one of the most beautiful scenic areas in Europe, the Italian Lake District. First, we will travel to Lake Orta, located in Orta San Giulio, a well-preserved medieval town. We will take a train to the medieval center of the town, and then a boat to the Island of San Giulio, a small island in the lake with a monastery. Afterwards, we will travel to Lake Maggiore, stopping in Stresa along the way, where you can choose to visit the Borromean Islands. A highlight is Isola Bella, famous for its gardens and palace (closed in winter). We will have some time for lunch before heading to Verona. Note: During the winter months, the Orta train does not run. In this case, you can walk approximately 800 meters from the bus parking lot to the medieval town.

We’ll have time to explore Verona, the enchanting city of Romeo and Juliet, before departing for Venice, arriving around 01:00 p.m. A delightful boat trip to St. Mark’s Square is included, followed by a guided walking tour of the City of Canals, including a visit to see Murano glasswork. Afterwards, enjoy some leisure time—perhaps a gondola ride? Accommodation will be in the Mestre district.

We’ll embark on our journey to Padua, a revered destination for many pilgrims, where we’ll visit the magnificent Saint’s Basilica. Our adventure will continue to the stunning Adriatic coast, bringing us to San Marino, a charming independent country perched atop a fortified mountain. After lunch, we’ll traverse the picturesque Apennines, soaking in the breathtaking mountain scenery as we head to Gubbio, a beautifully preserved town known for the impressive Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral. Finally, we’ll arrive in the enchanting city of Perugia.

We will begin a panoramic tour of Perugia, a beautiful historic city also known as the city of chocolate. Accompanied by a local guide, we will take an electric walkway that goes up through rocky outcrops and marvel at exploring its medieval underground city with slate streets and charming squares. Afterwards, we will travel to Rome and arrive in the afternoon.

In the morning, we will embark on a three-hour panoramic tour of Rome led by a local guide, combining a bus tour with walking tours of some ancient Roman ruins. We will see important sights such as the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, and the Imperial Forum (the political center of the ancient world). On the bus route, we will pass some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the Colosseum of Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Pyramid of Cestius, and the exterior of Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour will conclude around 11:00 AM in Vatican City, a separate city within Rome and the center of Catholicism. After the panoramic tour, our guide will offer optional visits to explore the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel in more detail. The afternoon will be free time. In the evening, we will arrange transportation to the Trastevere district, known for its charming restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. We will return to the hotel around 8:30 PM. Please note: Due to Jubilee celebrations, city tours may be subject to traffic restrictions implemented for various events.

After breakfast, our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
