The origin of urban legends
This legend used to circulate in schools, and almost every mischievous kid played it. Back then, there were no mobile phones; home phones were rotary dial phones. The legend said that if you dialed nine "9"s in a row at midnight, and then dialed twelve more times, you could connect to the underworld. It was said that whoever connected would die.
關於打好多個九字接通靈界，我都有一個親身經歷。嗰陣時仲係小學嘅我，只係無聊拎起個電話玩，不斷打九個「九」字，電話就不斷咁「的的的的的的的的的….」。
奇怪嘅事就係喺「的的」聲中間，竟然夾雜住一把女聲，咁含糊咁不斷講野，但聽唔到佢講咩。我即刻收線，但好奇心驅使之下，我又再試多一次。結果都係一樣，一把女聲不斷咁唔知講乜，聽落好似傳說中嘅「鬼食泥」聲音。
係我再一次收線之後，剛剛12點，突然電話響起……我嚇咗一跳，心想會唔會真係接通咗地府？
我鼓起勇氣拎起個電話黎聽，只聽到一句：「呢度999報案中心，小朋友你唔好再玩電話….」。
