1. EU Schengen Area: Latest Developments in the EES Entry and Exit System and ETIAS

The EU has implemented two core systems for non-EU/visa-free travelers (including holders of Hong Kong SAR passports and BNO passports):

  • EES (Entry/Exit System):Completely replacing traditional passport stamps. When travelers enter the Schengen Area for the first time, they must undergo facial scanning and fingerprint collection at self-service kiosks or counters.
