Today at Travel Mama Inside this cloud-based office, which feels like home, we're busy processing one small group tour after another to hidden gems in Taiwan, in-depth tours of Peru, or European destinations. Looking at the densely packed contact list of drivers and guides on the screen, I suddenly stopped and thought back to when we took over our first "private small group tour."

📍 That "surprising" experience: Maps and sweat in the makeshift stall

Looking back, we were just a small company struggling to make ends meet in a tiny office on the floor. One day, a customer walked in and asked hesitantly, "I want to take my elderly parents and kids on a trip, but I don't want to rush with a large tour group, and I don't know how to drive in the area. Can you help me with that?"

Although we weren't very experienced at the time, we took on this challenge because of our enthusiasm for making sure the client had a great time. To be honest, we were even more nervous than the client! To ensure the trip went smoothly, our entire team laid out maps on the table in that small office and studied each intersection on Google Maps.

Back then, without the advanced real-time communication systems we have now, we relied on long-distance phone calls to personally "verify" with the local drivers: Was the car new enough? Could three large pieces of luggage fit in the trunk? Was the seat for elderly people to get out too angled? We even asked clearly about whether each restaurant had an elevator and whether the restrooms were clean. That kind of "meticulousness" is still vivid in my memory today.

"Back then, we didn't have the halo of big brands, but we had the most genuine passion. For us, this wasn't just a business deal, but a precious holiday for someone's family."

By 2026, although Travel Mama It has fully transformed into... OTA (Online Travel Agency)The work environment has moved from the floor to the clouds, but our dedication to private small group tours remains exactly the same.

Although our clients won't be coming to our office anymore (because we don't even have a makeshift bed anymore 😂), that's precisely why we, as a group of colleagues, spend more time together, making us feel more like family. We'll be in this home-feeling office, frantically discussing things like finding a more authentic restaurant for our clients, or meticulously refining their itineraries to ensure that the connections between each attraction are "incredibly seamless."

We understand that the core of small group tours isn't how luxurious the vehicle is, but rather the experience of "no hassle, pure enjoyment." From the moment you contact us until you return, our team will be your strongest support.

📸 The best guarantee is never the orders.

When the first tour group returned that year, a customer personally carried a box of souvenirs back to the floor to thank us, and told us that the elderly had a great time.
I did an OTA (Online Travel Agency) today. Although I didn't receive any physical souvenirs, the sense of satisfaction I felt when I saw the scenery photos everyone sent back on WhatsApp and the kids having so much fun was still immense.
