Day 1 | Arrival in Taoyuan ➝ Heading east, landing in Yilan

The trip begins at Taoyuan Airport. You are expected to arrive in the afternoon. Your driver/guide will pick you up at the airport, and you can start thinking about vacation as soon as you drop off your luggage.

First stop: Settle in first, then gradually get into the rhythm of Yilan.

The drive took about an hour to reach Yilan. We didn't plan to visit too many attractions today, as the whole family was quite tired from the plane and car rides. It would be best to check in, rest, and have a leisurely meal.

After dinner, return to the hotel for a hot shower and an early bed, ready to officially begin the "family fun mode" the next day.

Today's itinerary is the kind that both kids and adults will enjoy, with fun activities, learning opportunities, food, and hot springs.

• What Luodong Night Market looks like through the eyes of children: The streets were filled with lights, smells, vendors' cries, and street games; I wanted to try every skewer and every drink.
• Luodong Night Market in the Eyes of Adults: Squid, scallion pancakes, chicken cutlets, tofu pudding, ice cream, and other local snacks, plus the Taiwanese night market culture that I often see on social media, I finally got to experience it firsthand.

After playing for a while, we went back to Yanbo Flower Park – Yilan Arts Center for a second night's rest. Staying in Yilan for two nights allows for a quieter pace of life, and we don't have to keep moving between hotels, which is much more comfortable for the whole family.

Day 3 | Traditional Arts, Animal Kingdom, Lego Museum ➝ Ximending, Taipei

The third day was a transitional day themed "From Yilan's Nature and Culture, Slowly Returning to the City Lights and Shadows of Taipei".

National Center for Traditional Arts: Handicrafts, stage performances, and old streets all in one place

The National Center for Traditional Arts is arguably one of the most representative attractions in Yilan, and children can enjoy it there:

• See traditional opera stage and folk performances
• Step into one of the handmade shops and try your hand at DIY projects (such as printmaking, paper fans, indigo dyeing, etc.).
• Enjoy a few local snacks and experience the "old street that feels like a movie set but is actually there."

For adults, this is a place that uses fun methods to introduce "Taiwanese traditional culture" to the next generation.

Lanyang Zoo: A Paradise for Kids to Exhaust Energy

Then go Lanyang Flora and Fauna KingdomThis is the real time for kids to burn off energy:

• Get up close to small animals
• Learn about various ecosystems through park design
• It's perfect for those narrow roads that are usually just made of steel and concrete in the city, allowing them to truly walk among green spaces and life.

This kind of "learning while playing" scenario usually makes kids sleep especially well at night 😂.

Day 4 | Free time in Taipei ➝ Airport transfer for return trip

The last day wasn't deliberately packed with activities, as every family has different preferences, and allowing for flexibility is the best approach. You can:

• Walk around Ximending a few more times to buy last-minute souvenirs.
• Take the MRT to Taipei Main Station / Walk around Xinyi District for a while
• If you have a preferred café or restaurant, you can discuss the timing with your driver/guide.

Afterwards, a private car will be arranged to take you back to the airport according to your flight time, thus completing this four-day family tour of Yilan and Taipei.
