Travelers and tourist attractions have implemented COVID-19 prevention measures, including wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, maintaining social distancing, and having temperatures checked at check-in locations. Kyushu, with its relatively less crowded and more open spaces, is a recommended destination for those who value personal hygiene and health and are concerned about contracting the virus, especially for extended stays.

DAY 1: Fukuoka City (Fukuoka Prefecture)
Fukuoka City is the gateway to Kyushu, and ramen is an absolute must-try. This time, we'll not only enjoy ramen but also experience traditional Japanese crafts like painted lanterns, try electric bike riding in the nearby Kitasaki area, and relax in a trendy cafe with ocean views. In the evening, we'll camp at a high-end campsite with a private beach in Fukuoka's Nishi Ward (on the east coast of the Itoshima Peninsula).

Check Point 01. Ramen Arena First Generation Hide-chan
The ramen shop we visited this time was "Hatsudai Hide-chan". Their specialty is their low-moisture noodles, and the broth is a rich, thick soup made with pork bones, pork trotters, and a special stock. The secret sauce is used to enhance the flavor of the broth.
This ramen is incredibly delicious and popular, earning it a place in ramen rankings. It's a favorite among customers from all over Asia. If you have the chance, please give it a try!
Check Point 02. Kadota Lantern Store
To learn about high-quality handmade lanterns in Japan, visit Kadota Lantern Shop in Hakata, a long-established company founded in 1895. All the lanterns used in Hakata Gion Yamakasa, the Hakata Tonkaku Festival, and Kushida Shrine are made here. You can create your own original lantern by drawing a design or writing on it.

Check Points 03 & 04: Itoshima Peninsula Ecotourism Association, SURF SIDE CAFE@PALM BEACH THE GARDEN (Instagrammable "Angel Wings" spot)
Cycling is the best way to explore Itoshima. You can rent an "E-BIKE" from the Itoshima Peninsula Ecotourism Association and cycle around the Sakurai-Futamiura coast and the Meoto-iwa (Wedded Rocks), then head to the beach for a coffee. Along the way, you'll pass by Futamiura shops, cafes, pizza parlors, and other restaurants, allowing you to relax, stop, and enjoy a bite.

Next door is another complex called PALM BEACH THE GARDEN, which features restaurants, cafes, and an Instagram-worthy spot called "Angel Wings." SURF SIDE CAFE serves burgers, offering views of the Futamiura coastline while you enjoy your meal.
Check Point 05.KARADOMARI VILLAGE
Located in the suburbs of Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City, this camping facility offers spectacular ocean views amidst nature. It's ideal for camping beginners and those seeking comfort during outdoor activities. Cool in summer and warm in winter, it's perfect for hosting parties, even with a bar, if you're traveling with friends. There's even a sauna! How wonderful is that?

Check Point 06 HAKATA de FUSION (Recommended accommodation for long-term stays)
Experience the fusion of nature and artifice, tradition and innovation, art and space in Hakata. HAKATA de FUSION Hakata Gion offers a variety of accommodation packages. Inside, you can see traditional crafts such as Hakata lanterns, Hakata weaving, and Hakata water pipes. You can also see exhibitions themed around "Hakata Yamakasa" and "Hakata Kyokumono".

DAY 2: Itoshima City (Fukuoka Prefecture)
Enjoy a romantic sunset at the famous "Lovers' Sanctuary" Sakurai Futamiura Momoi Rocks on Itsujima Island, surf on a beautiful beach, visit Genbu Cave, one of Japan's three largest caves, in Genkai National Park, and stroll along a forest path reminiscent of "My Neighbor Totoro." Check Point 01. Sakurai Futamiura Park - Couple Rocks
The Tomoyo-iwa (Couple Rocks) of Futamiura, Sakurai, are located in the northern part of Itoshima City, about a 5-minute drive from Palm Beach Garden. At Sakurai Shrine, you can see the white torii gates floating on the sea. On the summer solstice, the sun sets between the Tomoyo-iwa and Futamiura rocks, making it a very romantic spot.
Check Point 02. H1surf
If you're looking to ride the waves in Futamiura, Itsuki Island, H1surf is the perfect choice. Here, you'll find professionally qualified instructors who are experienced surfers, so even beginners can give it a try! Just change your gear and get going!

Check Points 03 & 04: The Gate of the Mustard House, and the Oyster Hut with its Large Black Maru
The Akuta-no-Den, located within Genkai Quasi-National Park, offers sightseeing boat tours from March to November each year. The 25-minute boat ride provides a view of Genbu Cave, the largest of Japan's three major Genbu Caves. Don't miss this spectacular view!

There's also a hidden gem here. On the way to the observation deck, you can walk through a forest reminiscent of the anime "My Neighbor Totoro." It's a top choice for Instagram-worthy photos.
Kijima Island has many oyster shacks, attracting many people who drive here on weekends to enjoy charcoal-grilled seafood. These oyster shacks are directly run by fishermen, and oysters, abalone, clams, scallops, and salted seafood are shipped directly from Kijima Fishing Port at much lower prices than in Hong Kong. Besides charcoal-grilled seafood, they also offer seafood donburi (rice bowls), both of which are incredibly delicious.

Check Point 05. Empty Fire Sea (Subo)
A detached holiday home located in Itoshima, Fukuoka City, Japan. Highly recommended for families, couples, and friends. It features a large balcony perfect for gatherings and barbecues. Private catering is also available if your budget allows.
Check Point 06 Glocal Hotel Itoshima (Recommended accommodation for long-term stays)

Then, on the third day, we traveled to Karatsu City. First, we experienced the famous Karatsu ware pottery, followed by a visit to Yoruko Morning Market, one of Japan's three major morning markets, to experience traditional Japanese flavors. We also visited Kagamiyama, a picturesque spot offering spectacular views of one of Japan's three major pine forests and the Rainbow Pine Forest, where we enjoyed a freshly made Karatsu burger. Finally, we stayed at a luxurious hot spring inn.

Check Point 01. Mirror Hill
It is the representative mountain of Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, with a total height of 284 meters. From here, you can see Nijinopine Plain, one of Japan's three major pine forests, Genkai, Takashima, Karatsu Castle, and other landmarks. The pine forest stretches for approximately 4.5 kilometers and contains about one million black pine trees. The dreamlike pine forest and the boundless sea create an impressive landscape. You can also stop at Kagamiyama Shrine along the way to pray for safe travels and prosperous business.
Check Point 02. Huzichao Market
Yoruko Morning Market is one of Japan's three major morning markets, open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The market features numerous stalls selling seafood, crafts, and handicrafts, allowing you to eat your way from one end of the street to the other, or order snacks such as grilled squid, kamaboko (fish cake), oysters, and other light meals.

Check Points 03 & 04: Nakano Pottery Kiln, Karatsu Hamburg, and Nijinomatsuhara

Karatsu is famous for its pottery, and the Nakano Pottery Kiln, which produces Karatsu ware, still uses a traditional kiln built by Matsushima Yagoro I in the late Edo period. You can also experience making Karatsu ware yourself here.
If you get hungry after a walk in Nijinomatsubara, you can order a "Karazu Burger" in the pine forest and enjoy a delicious meal amidst the natural scenery!

Check Point 05. Shioyu Nagnon (accommodation)
We would like to recommend the luxurious hot spring inn "Shioyu Nagi no Oto" in Karatsu City. Listed as a "Special Comfort Inn <3 stars ★★★>" in the 2019 Michelin Guide, the hotel features 23 rooms overlooking the beautiful Karatsu Bay, which has been selected as one of Japan's 100 most beautiful spots. Sea view rooms and garden rooms are also available.
The evening kaiseki meal offers local specialties renowned for their performances at various tasting events, such as Saga beef and the famous live squid. Highly recommended for those who wish to spend their holiday in a relaxed atmosphere and fully enjoy Karatsu cuisine.

Check Point 01. Michi no Eki (Takashima Station) / Takashima Hizen Bridge
The Takashima-Hizen Bridge, connecting Karatsu City in Saga Prefecture and Matsuura City in Nagasaki Prefecture, boasts the highest production of tiger pufferfish in Japan. At the "Michi no Eki Takashima" rest stop next to the bridge, there is a tuna butchering demonstration on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, after which you can buy freshly butchered tuna sashimi.
Check Point 02. Sanxuan House on Sea House Terrace
The floating restaurant "Sangenya Maritime Restaurant" is located right next to the pier, allowing you to dine on a boat as it gently rocks with the waves, experiencing the flavors of a fishing village. The cuisine focuses on seafood, with recommended dishes including octopus, squid, flounder, bonito, and tuna. All of these are freshly caught that day. Sashimi is generously served over rice, mixed with a secret sesame sauce and wasabi, and finally topped with ochazuke (rice with tea) made with dashi broth, creating a triple sensory experience. Add a side of fried horse mackerel, a local specialty of Matsuura City, to further satisfy your taste buds!

Check Point 03. Boat Fishing Experience
The bay in Matsuura City teems with fish, and you can experience fishing with local fishermen. While fishing with the fishermen, you can even take your catch home and have them prepare it for you (a unique experience in the Aoshima area). You can also experience a homestay at a fisherman's home. Tired of city life, getting closer to the ocean and the daily lives of Japanese people is truly tempting.

Check Point 04. & 05. Glamping Village Seagrand, Tugu Shengtian
Located in Fukushima-cho, Matsuura City, Glamping Village Seaglun is a luxurious camping facility where you can easily enjoy camping. It has only seven rooms, but all of them face the bay. Outdoor enthusiasts can relax in hammocks on the terrace, have a barbecue, and enjoy activities such as surfing, boating, and deep-sea fishing.

In addition, the Tsuchiya Rice Terraces, selected as one of Japan's 100 best rice terraces, stretch for about 400 steps all the way to the coast, resembling a mirror. The sunset reflects the various colors of the seasons.
Every September, the "Tuko Rice Terraces Fire Festival" is held, with approximately 3,000 lights illuminated. This attracts many tourists and photographers to capture the beautiful scenery.
Check Point 06 AMISTAD HOTEL (Recommended accommodation for long-term stays)
This is the largest business hotel in Matsuura. The Scandinavian-style interior is very stylish and creates a calming and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel's location is also very convenient, situated in the heart of Matsuura, a 50-minute drive from Huis Ten Bosch, a 20-minute drive from Imari, and a 20-minute drive from Hirado. DAY5: Heado City (Nagasaki Prefecture)
For Hong Kong residents, this is a relatively new route where you can stay in a Japanese castle and experience being a castle owner, or ride horses on the beach. For photography enthusiasts, it's a frequent location for Japanese car commercials. Explore the scenic views of historical temples and churches, experiencing the fusion of Japanese and Western cultures. Finally, enjoy a bowl of Hirado ramen to perfect your trip.

Check Points 01 & 02: Temple and Church Scenery, Meshi Tokoro (Ichiraku)
If you want to see both Eastern and Western architecture, the "Temple and Church Scenery" is highly recommended. Located in the middle of Zuiun-ji Temple in Japan, you can see the temple and St. Francis Xavier Cathedral by following one of the paths.
Just a four-minute walk from the path leading to the temples and churches, you'll reach Meshi dokoro Ichiraku, a famous restaurant in Hirado. The rich, creamy broth, simmered for a long time with plenty of pork and crisp, sweet vegetables, is a hallmark of Hirado ramen.
Check Point 03. SEAVIEW Ranch
SEAVIEW Ranch has five adorable and well-behaved horses, and beginners can ride on the beach under the guidance of instructors. Different options are available to suit different preferences.

Check Point 04. Ikuzuki Island / Shiohata no Denai (Cliff of Shiohata)

Ikuzuki Island is a national park in Hirado City. If you enjoy road trips, this is a spectacular attraction not to be missed.
Located about a 30-minute drive from downtown Hirado, Ikuzuki Island is a frequent filming location for Japanese automakers' commercials. Connected to the main island of Hirado by the Ikuzuki Bridge, if you drive north along the Ikuzuki Sunset Road coastal highway, you'll find the Shiobara Cliffs, a 20-meter-high rock formation along the island's coastline showcasing the power of nature.
Check Point 05. Heido Castle Nairou Castle Stay
Become the master of a castle overnight and enjoy a castle stay for 600,000 yen per night. The Hirado Castle Kawaiju Yamaguchi Castle, which opened last April, is a renovated exhibition hall with understated luxury and exquisite Japanese atmosphere in every detail.
